Dear Parents:
Your son/daughter is a student in grade two, and it is throughout grade two that preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion will take place. In requesting to have your child receive these sacraments, you are reminded of the promise you made to God on behalf of your child on the day of his/her baptism — to be faithful in training your child in the practice of the faith.
The grade two program for these sacraments involves a total commitment on the part of parents, teachers, and the parish, so that the child may understand God’s mercy in reconciliation and His love for us through the Eucharist.
Of utmost importance for your child’s fruitful reception of the sacraments will be participation at Sunday Mass at 12:45 p.m. (September through June), as well as your commitment to attend meetings.
Please complete the enclosed First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion Request form. You are also requested to bring a copy of your son’s/daughter’s Baptismal Certificate to the meeting. All certificates will be photocopied and returned. If your son/daughter was baptized at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, it is not necessary to bring a Baptismal Certificate.
A mandatory meeting for parents of candidates receiving their First Reconciliation and Communion will be announced as soon as we collect all the registration forms. During the meeting, an informational packet will be handed out, and a detailed program will be presented to candidates and their parents.
To assist with your advance planning, our parish celebrations will occur on the following dates:
- First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
- First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday, May 17th, 2026 at 12:45 p.m.
This is a very special year for your child. The teachers and I are most willing to assist you in fulfilling the promises you made for your child on the day of their baptism. Your participation at parent meetings is indispensable for your child’s faith-filled reception of the sacraments.
